One of the most common questions for families is whether to take on the expense of a pool.  This is a substantial undertaking. Beside the cost of the pool, there is the permit process and the inconvenience of the construction.  Certainly if your backyard becomes the gathering spot for the neighborhood children this could be good or bad depending on your view.  Unfortunately the truth is that pools can be a negative when trying to sell your house or can limit future expansion of your home as your family grows.

The current trend seems to be away from pools and toward the installation of a three season outdoor living area incorporating a fire pit, outdoor kitchen, raised patio or deck and hot tub.  This year’s HGTV dream home uses this model.  My interest in outdoor kitchens started years ago when I did some work for a local Long Island gas company.  I am now certified by Wolfe and Kalamazoo and would love to help you put your dream outdoor room together.  Whether a pool or some other focal piece for entertainment… you will find my designs functional and that they can be modified to any budget.
