Patios are typically made of concrete or stone slabs laid over a firm base. This base is often formed of a layer of compacted hardcore, a layer of sharp sand, or a layer of cement mortar. The firmness and stability of the base is essential to the integrity of the top layer - an infirm base will typically result in cracking. Inlays are a great design tool for accents. Decks

Decks are outdoor living areas that are elevated from the ground, and are usually connected to a building. Constructed of traditional woods such a mahogany or cedar or new composites such as "trex". All can be designed and installed with your entertaining needs and budget in mind and may be a cost effective way to bring the "outside" "inside".
